Description

A rare convergence of three things Hermès no longer makes easy to find.

This is the Kelly Ghillies Portefeuille, a long wallet that takes Hermés' most iconic silhouette and dresses it in the openwork artistry borrowed from traditional brogue shoemaking. The perforated laced detailing tracing the clasp and corners is the Ghillies signature, a labor-intensive couture flourish that Hermès has since discontinued, making every surviving piece a closed chapter in the maison's archive.

It is rendered in Vanille, one of the most quietly coveted colors in the Hermès exotic spectrum. A soft, buttery cream with the warmth of fresh custard, Vanille is produced in vanishingly small quantities on exotic skins. A pale neutral this delicate is rarely committed to alligator, where every hide must be flawless to carry it.

It is genuine alligator (Alligator mississippiensis) confirmed by the square hallmark engraved beside the Hermès stamp, not the more common crocodile. The matte finish lets the natural scale structure speak for itself: tonal, velvety, and entirely without gloss, so the Ghillies openwork reads as texture rather than ornament. Palladium hardware and the signature Kelly run-lock complete a piece that is much a collector's object as it is a wallet.

Every piece at The Archival Collection is authenticated before it's listed. While our standard process uses Entrupy, exotic skins fall outside Entrupy's coverage. This wallet has been independently authenticated through LegitApp and ships with its authentication tag.

Authenticity Guarantee

Authenticity is the foundation everything else rests on, and we treat it that way.

A note on cards: many of our pieces arrive with their original authenticity card, and we're always glad when they do. But a card is not proof. Cards can be reproduced, mismatched, or separated rated from the piece they were meant to accompany. We never let one stand in for verification. It's a nice provenance detail, not a guarantee.

That's why we take the extra step, every time. Every piece is independently authenticated through Entrupy, a third-party authentication technology that uses AI and high-resolution imaging to compare a piece against a vast database of genuine and counterfeit examples. The result is an objective, documented decision, not one person's opinion. Some pieces arrive with Legit App certification as well; when they do, we keep both on file. But Entrupy is the constant. No piece enters the collection without it.

Every order ships with its Entrupy Certificate of Authenticity included. And if you'd like to see it before you buy, just ask; we're glad to send the certificate link ahead of purchase.

Only once a piece passes does it earn its place in the collection.

And we stand behind it. If a piece sold by The Archival Collection is ever found not to be authentic, we will make it right with a full refund. That assurance never expires.

Returns & final sale

Every piece in The Archival Collection is unique; sourced, authenticated, and offered as a single object with its own history. For this reason, all sales are final. We don't accept returns, exchanges, or cancellations once an order is placed.

We ask that you buy with intention. Before you do, we want you to feel certain.

Authenticity, guaranteed.
Every piece is authenticated before it's listed. We stand behind that fully: if a piece is ever found not to be authentic, we will make it right, including a complete refund. This is the one assurance we will always honor.

Condition, described honestly.
We photograph and describe each piece as it truly is. What you see is what arrives. If you have any questions about condition, measurements, or provenance, ask us before you purchase. We'd rather answer ten questions than have a piece go to the wrong home.

If something arrives damaged.
In the rare event a piece is damaged in transit, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos, and we'll work with you to resolve it.
